You may be a newbie to running, established runner or returning after time off for other reasons. Either way, I’m hoping tak ing the time out of your day to enjoy my blog! What I am going to try to do is make a blog that is both encouraging as well as informative, so maybe some of the missteps I have done you won’t have too. Plus, we can both have some laughs together along the way. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was not a runner growing up, I didn’t pick it up after I graduated college. I started out walking with a little running in-between, and slowly built my strength and love for the run. Running was very difficult for me when I first started. I was 30 lbs. heavier than I am now, and I couldn't even it make it one block without having to stop and rest. It took time, but I worked hard and eventually worked myself up to completing my first marathon in 2009! After a few years I have finally reached two of my running goals. In October of 2014 I ran my first ultramarathon. Then after many tries, I finally qualified, and ran my first Boston Marathon in April of 2015. It is my goal to post topics in the blog to get you thinking about running and what you can be capable of. Every runner is different and has different goals and expectations. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be running. It is never too late to start. We will get into discussions ways to be confident of your running, health/emotional benefits and how to keep yourself motivated! I am so excited to start this running blog journey. I’m looking forward to posting my stories and sharing my experiences along with running information, guidance that everyone can use in their own running journeys. Stay tuned!
