Today I had to say goodbye to my wonderful Nike+ Watch. This watch has been there for me with more training runs than I can count. It was by my side when I ran the Boston marathon and an ultramarathon. Last week the screen of my running watch went blank. I thought I could solve this problem by calling Nike and either have them fix it or send me a new watch, but this couldn't happen. They do not make this watch anymore so they would not be able to fix it. What?!
I was also told that Nike is stepping away from running watches. Previously they used to partner with TomTom for their watches, but this has stopped over a year ago. They currently sell one running watch and you have to own a iPhone to link it. I have a Motorola so that doesn't work.
I am working on ways to deal with my loss and I know I will get over it, but it stings to retire my watch. Eventually I will be able to move on with this, just watch me :)
