Sometimes I stress too much about how my running is going! Have your ever felt this way? When I do this it totally impacts my mood, and those feelings change my confidence. The first thing you need to do is recognize this is happening to get back in control and enjoy your run.
1. Calm Your Mind Remove the negative self-judgement going on by removing these thoughts. This means stop comparing your running to other athletes. There's no one like me, but me.
2. Recognize Achievements You have been training for awhile now, and made a lot of progress since you started. Recognize this, and be proud of yourself! Think about all the improvement you have made and how it has made you stronger in multiple ways.
3. Remote Control Change the channel from a negative station to a positive one. You are in charge of the remote so be in control of finding the show, it will help you focus on the positive and encouraging thoughts.
4. Be In The Moment, Not The Future Focus on the present of what is going on. Don't start thinking about the future or what happened in the past. Have excitement for what you are doing on your walk or run in the moment.
Remember the benefits of exercise! Don't forget this helps release your endorphins while running.. This is a great way to discard your negative energy and focus on the positive.
